 The Gainesville Youth Chorus Presents2008 Summer Workshop Series
In the Spotlight
Offered June 16–19; 1:00-4:00 PM
Ever wanted to sing a solo, but too nervous to step out in the lime light? Want to refine your performance skills? In the Spotlight is for you! This session focuses upon solo singing for the intermediate singer in a nurturing environment, with practice in performance skills, auditioning techniques and selection of repertoire.
Broadway & GYC
Offered July 7–10; 1:00-4:00 PM
Want to learn more about singing, choreography or get more practice with those cool moves? Come strut your stuff during Broadway & GYC. This session includes show tunes, choreography and group as well as ensemble work.
Under African Skies
Offered July 14–17; 1:00-4:00 PM
Experience the harmonies of African choral music, the driving rhythms of dance, and the spirit of community music in this dynamic four day workshop Under African Skies.
About GYC's Summer Workshops
Each session is $100 and open to children aged 7-18 year of age, with no audition necessary! Workshop participants may audition for the Gainesville Youth Chorus at the end of each session.
